Welcome to the American Dream Nightmare in 2023

As someone whose official job title was “rifleman” in the Marine Corps, I can say that no citizen should ever have access to an AR-15. Yesterday in Jacksonville, FL, yet another lowlife scumbag white supremacist armed with an AR-15 murdered Black citizens in broad daylight. The victims are:

  • 52-year-old Angela Michelle Carr

  • 19-year-old Anoly Joseph Laguerre Jr.

  • 29-year-old Jarrard De’Shaun Gallion.

That this tragedy happened in a state governed by fascist-wanna-be Ron DeSantis is no accident. DeSantis has been waging war on Black people in Florida for some time. That rubber-faced Yalie ghoul even made it illegal to teach the truth about America’s sordid history of slavery and the Black American experience. So if you happen to live in Florida, let me give you a quick history lesson: America was “founded” by white bloodthirsty psychopath slave-owners who declared that “all men are created equal” while committing genocide against the indigenous people who lived here.

Furthermore, last month Ron I-laugh-like-I’m-having-an-evil-orgasm DeSantis instituted a permit-less carry law for firearms in the state of Florida. No surprise, as Desantis, during the Iraq War, was a naval officer who helped preside over the horror show at Gitmo. Well, as the neo-Nazis are quick to point out: Florida is “DeSantis Country.”

It’s harder to fire an AR-15 in the Marine Corps than in civilian world

The fact that American society is 1000% more lax about access to assault rifles than the Marine Corps (which prides itself on turning young people into “killing machines”) is a surefire sign that this country has lost its goddam mind.

In the Marines, a profound respect and understanding of your rifle is drilled into you. We are taught discipline, respect, and the enormous responsibility that comes with wielding an assault rifle. In Boot Camp, you sleep with your assault rifle, and hump with your assault rifle, and you rehearse your different shooting positions (prone, sitting, kneeling and standing) for hours on end, and you sit through weeks of boring classes about your assault rifle. All before you fire a single round.

In Boot Camp, at night in your rack before lights out, you recite the Marine Corps Rifle Creed. A slightly deranged little ditty you might have heard if you’ve seen Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket: This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.

Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket

It was George W. who in 2004 let the assault weapons ban expire

So while prosecuting war crimes in Iraq, that snake oil salesman declared war on America, by ushering in an epidemic of mass shootings. All the dead and wounded Americans and all that blood running in our streets and in our schools over the last 20+ years is on W.’s hands.

“We cannot get rid of mankind’s fleetingly wicked wishes. We can get rid of the machines that make them come true.

I give you the holiest of words: DISARM.”

– Kurt Vonnegut

Btw there is no such thing as a “mass shooting”

The term “mass shooting” is some Orwellian doublespeak designed to describe an act of war without calling it an act of war. Do you think I exaggerate? Fact: more people die in America by gunfire each day than American soldiers ever died in a single day of the 15+ year Iraq War. That’s right, you had a greater chance of being shot and killed in America than an American soldier did in Iraq. That’s because America is at war with itself. If what is happening in America were happening in any other country we could call it what it is: a civil war.

And if you’re thinking, “Well you’re obviously nuts for saying that, Gabe. I go about my normal life every day. How can I be living in a war zone?” Well I’ve got news for you: civilians are almost always going about their lives in the midst of war. Ask a veteran, study your history books. War isn’t like the movies. It’s often difficult to know where a war stops and the civilian world starts.

The myth of the lone wolf shooter is a lie

The Jacksonville Sheriff said, “There’s absolutely no evidence that the shooter is part of any large group.” This statement directly contradicts the evidence right before our eyes. The white Jacksonville shooter had swastikas on his weapons in the manner of other such mass shooters who came before him. His online screed or so-called “manifesto” is surely being passed around right now and read and admired and posted in the dark corners of the internet.

A mass shooter with AR-15 is White Power equiv of suicide bomber

All these white supremacist mass shooters are most definitely in conversation with each other. Through their unhinged online screeds. And most importantly, through their AR-15’s. Their AR-15’s are murderous walkie talkies that enable them to speak to each from beyond the grave. Because I promise you somewhere in America right now a young white supremacist – spurred on by images of the Jacksonville shooter’s weapons decorated with swastikas – is plotting a mass shooting with an AR-15.

Mark my words.
